IslandStats.com
Somersfield Academy proved to be the undisputed force at the Middle School Girls' Badminton Championships, held on their home courts, achieving a clean sweep of the podium in the fiercely contested Under 13 Singles Division.

Emma Tothong led the Somersfield Academy charge, securing the Gold Medal after defeating her teammate Kate Pursell in a closely fought final, winning 15-11. Aniah Tucker ensured a complete Somersfield podium lockout by coming from behind to defeat Devi Samuels of Warwick Academy in the third-place match. Earlier in the semi-finals, Tothong had overcome Tucker 15-8, while Pursell defeated Samuels 15-13.

Somersfield Academy's dominance extended to the Under 13 doubles competition. Aniah Tucker and Kate Pursell teamed up to claim the title, defeating Annabelle Shah and Devi Samuels of Warwick Academy 15-11 in the final.

Emma Tothong joined forces with Anna Green to secure the Bronze Medal for Somersfield, defeating Saltus Grammar School's Amaris Nusum and Zara Bule 15-3 in the third-place match. The victorious Tucker/Pursell duo had earlier defeated their Somersfield counterparts Tothong and Green 15-7 in the semi-final, while the Warwick pair of Shah and Samuels overcame Nusum and Bule 15-9 to reach the final.

The Over 13 singles division also saw a Somersfield Academy player emerge victorious, with Sienna Harper claiming the title after overcoming Sophie McClure of Warwick Academy 15-9 in the final.

Leilani Carpol secured the Bronze Medal for Somersfield in this Division, defeating McKenna Kyme from Saltus Grammar School 15-7 in the third-place match. Harper had progressed to the final after defeating Kyme in the Semi-Final, while McClure overcame Carpol 15-5 in the other Semi-Final.

However, Warwick Academy prevented a complete Somersfield clean sweep by winning the Over 13 Doubles tournament. The Warwick duo of Lilian Collette and Sophie McClure teamed up to win the round-robin tournament undefeated with a perfect 5-0 record. Somersfield Academy's Sienna Harper and Leilani Carpol finished second with a strong 4-1 record, while Sandys Secondary Middle School students Priya Dill and Rhe'O Simmons claimed the Bronze Medal with a 3-2 record.

Somersfield Academy's strong showing, particularly in the Under 13 division, highlighted the depth of their badminton program, while Warwick Academy also demonstrated their strength in the older age group. The tournament showcased the impressive young badminton talent in Bermuda.
