 Logan Jiménez played a key role as his Hibernian FC Under-18 teammates clinched the CAS Elite Under-18 League title with a resounding 4-0 away victory over Kilmarnock. The young Hibs team delivered a commanding performance at Rugby Park to secure the silverware with a match to spare.
Jamie McMurdo's early long-range stunner and a remarkable corner from Josh McDonald gave Hibernian FC a comfortable two-goal cushion within the opening 20 minutes. Dean Cleland then added a brace of his own, including a well-worked counter-attacking goal orchestrated by Jiménez, to complete the emphatic win.
Despite an early threat from the hosts' Reuben Cooper, who fired just over the bar, Hibernian FC quickly asserted their dominance. McMurdo's magnificent 25-yard strike in the fourth minute left the Kilmarnock goalkeeper with no chance, putting Hibs firmly in control.
Kilmarnock had a golden opportunity to level on ten minutes, but Hibs' goalkeeper Ryan Mallon denied Shay McKeown from point-blank range. However, Hibernian FC doubled their lead in spectacular fashion on 20 minutes when McDonald's seemingly innocuous corner evaded everyone and curled directly into the back post.
With a two-goal lead under the Ayrshire sun, Darren McGregor's side controlled possession and patiently waited for their next opening. It arrived on 33 minutes when Jiménez spearheaded a swift counter-attack, breaking through the Kilmarnock defence before unselfishly squaring the ball to Cleland, who tapped it into an empty net.
Just six minutes after the restart, Jiménez and Cleland combined again to devastating effect, replicating their earlier link-up. Jiménez's through ball found Cleland, who slotted home his second goal, extending Hibs' lead to an unassailable four.
While both sides had a few half-chances in the remaining minutes, Hibernian FC comfortably saw out the match to seal the CAS Elite Under-18 League title. This dominant victory also confirms their participation in the prestigious 2025/26 UEFA Youth League next season, marking a significant achievement for Jiménez and his young Hibernian FC teammates.
