Having won the toss, the Old Sedberghian side elected to bat first and posted an imposing total of 316 for 7. The cornerstone of their innings was a magnificent unbeaten knock from opener Max Winskill, who carried his bat through the entire innings to reach a superb 157 not out. The Sedbergh School bowlers toiled hard, with Joe Davies proving the most successful, claiming two wickets for 48 runs in his ten-over spell.
