The Bermuda Cricket Board's Premier and First Divisions served up a feast of T20 action across the island, with high scores, tight finishes, and individual brilliance dominating the headlines.
Premier Division Showdowns
At Sea Breeze Oval, St. George’s Cricket Club emerged victorious over Bailey's Bay Cricket Club by six wickets, despite a herculean effort from Bay's captain and opener Terryn Fray. Fray carried his bat through the entire innings, scoring an incredible 90 not out off just 63 balls, including 11 fours and two sixes. However, his solo brilliance wasn't enough as Isaiah Greaves spearheaded the St. George's bowling attack, taking three wickets for 24 runs.
St. George's chased down the target of 163 with relative ease, reaching 163 for 4. Jason Anderson led the charge with a blistering 67 off 43 balls, smashing six fours and four sixes in his innings. Sharye Tavares picked up two wickets for Bailey's Bay but couldn't stem the flow of runs.
The Somerset Cricket Club witnessed a tight affair as St. David's Cricket Club edged out the hosts by five wickets. Somerset CC were restricted to 124 for 7, with Jade Morrissey's unbeaten 44 off 29 balls providing some late impetus. Derrick Brangman was instrumental for St. David's, claiming three wickets for just 12 runs.
St. David's responded with 127 for 5, with Onias Bascome's explosive 52 off just 25 balls, including five fours and four sixes, guiding them to victory. Dominic Sabir took three wickets for Somerset but ultimately ended on the losing side.
At PHC Stadium, Cleveland County secured a four-wicket victory over Devonshire Recreation Club in a low-scoring encounter. Devonshire Rec were restricted to just 75 for 7 after winning the toss and electing to bat, with Gerald Simons and Alafia Henry both scoring 14. Q'Shai Darrell was the pick of the Cleveland bowlers, taking three wickets for 19 runs.
Cleveland County reached their target of 80 for 6, with Steven Bremar top-scoring with 21. Allan Douglas took three wickets for Devonshire Rec but couldn't prevent Cleveland from securing the win.
First Division Battles
The First Division also provided plenty of excitement. At Sea Breeze Oval, Western Stars dominated Warwick Workmen’s Club, winning by a comfortable 70 runs. Western Stars posted a strong 181 for 8 after being sent in to bat, with Brian Hall smashing a quick-fire 45 off 24 balls. Jalani Richardson took two wickets for Warwick.
In reply, Warwick Workmen’s Club were restricted to 111 for 4, despite Kamau Leverock's 43. Rohan Davis was economical for Western Stars, taking one wicket for just 13 runs.
PHC Stadium saw Willow Cuts emerge victorious over PHC by 13 runs in a low-scoring affair. Willow Cuts managed 115 for 8 after being put in to bat, with Shaquille Bean unbeaten on 22. Koshun Durrant took two wickets for PHC.
PHC could only muster 102 for 9 in their chase, with Sage Carter top-scoring with 26. Ras Solomon Burrows was the star with the ball for Willow Cuts, taking three wickets for 18 runs.
Southampton Rangers SC recorded a comprehensive 73-run victory over Somerset Bridge at the Somerset Cricket Club. Rangers posted an impressive 196 for 5 after winning the toss and electing to bat, with Dion Stovell leading the way with a blistering 70 off 52 balls. Noel Woods picked up one wicket for Somerset Bridge.
In reply, Somerset Bridge could only manage 123 for 9, despite Patrick Dill's 36. Makai Jacobs was the pick of the Rangers bowlers, taking two wickets for just 14 runs.
