Satya Darrell and her University of Manchester Women's Rugby Football Club teammates have clinched the Northern Conference Cup Championship following a thrilling 44-31 victory over Bangor Women.
Manchester's journey to the final was marked by dominant performances. They began their campaign with a resounding 78-7 win against Liverpool Women in the Second Round, before successfully navigating their way past Sheffield Hallam Women in the subsequent stage. Their momentum continued into the Semi-Finals, where they convincingly defeated Newcastle Women 46-5.
The final against Bangor proved to be a more closely contested affair, but Manchester's attacking prowess ultimately shone through. Darrell and her teammates managed to outscore their opponents, securing a 44-31 victory to lift the coveted Northern Conference Cup trophy.
Throughout the entire tournament, Manchester's attacking flair and solid defence were evident, as they amassed an impressive 168 points while only conceding 43. This championship win is a testament to the team's hard work, skill, and teamwork, with Darrell playing a key role in their success.
