Ryan Outerbridge, representing the Franklin Pierce University Men's Track and Field team, has been recognised as the Northeast-10 (NE10) Track Athlete of the Week following a phenomenal performance at MIT's Sean Collier Invitational.
Outerbridge produced a stunning run in the Steeplechase, posting a time that is a remarkable 37 seconds faster than any other athlete in the East Region this season. To put that margin into perspective, it's the same gap that separates the second-fastest time from the twelfth.
While the outdoor season is still in its early stages, Outerbridge's exceptional mark has only been bettered four times in the East Region in the past five seasons, with one of those instances being his own performance back in 2023.
Adding to his impressive showing at the meet, Outerbridge also demonstrated his versatility by running the 1,500 meters in a swift 3 minutes 58.60 seconds. This time currently stands as the third-best in the entire NE10 conference this season, further highlighting his outstanding form.
Outerbridge and his Franklin Pierce teammates, both men and women, will be looking to carry this momentum into their next competition this weekend. They are scheduled to compete at the CCSU Blue Devil Invite in New Britain, Connecticut, where Outerbridge will undoubtedly be one to watch following his stellar performance in Massachusetts.
