Marcus Scotland and his Newport Cricket Club Wales teammates defeated Ammanford Cricket Club by 102 runs in South Wales Premier Cricket League action.
Newport batted first and scored 284/8 in their allotted 50 overs, Callum Taylor was the top scorer with 72, Scotland was out without scoring. Fahad Sabir was the pick of the Ammanford bowlers with figures of 10-0-24-3.
In reply Ammanford was bowled out for 182, Alun Evans was the top scorer with 77, Mujeid Ilyas was the pick of the Newport bowlers returning figures of 7-1-25-3, Scotland held onto a catch, and he had a stumping as well.
