Bermuda Olympian Tyrone Smith has finished 7th competing in the FBK Games in the Netherlands.
Smith took to the Dutch Athletics Classic event, coming off his best overall performance just weeks ago, but as he stated “I had some trouble finding the board today with 3 fouls and two jumps behind the board.”
Smith recorded a Foul on his first attempt, but followed that with a 7.63m on his second attempt. Smith then had back to back Fouls, before his only jump on the board measured at 7.82m. Smith then closed out with a leap of 7.78m, the event was won by Luvo Manyonga from South Africa with a leap of 8.62m, Rushwal Samaai also from South Africa was second with a top leap of 8.34m and Jamaican Damar Forbes finished 3rd with a top leap of 8.29m.
Smith concluded, “I am just looking to get on the board and do what I know I can do with my eyes closed in the very near future.”
