International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge praised the inaugural edition of the Youth Olympic Games on Saturday as the Games passed their halfway point in Singapore.
"The athletes are having a great time and the smiles you see everywhere are proof of that," President Rogge said. "So far everything is going smoothly and we've been very pleased with the organization, the competition and the non-sport activities. While it is impossible to provide a full assessment of the Games until after they're over, so far we are very satisfied."
Taylor Ashley Bean finished the Women’s B 1000m Final in 8th place. Bean started out in lane 7 completed the race in a time of 3:11.45. The Women’s B 1000m Final was won by Manal El Behraqui ion a time of 2:53.87.
Owen Siese is currently in 5th place following his 8th and 6th place finishes in the days two races. Siese has thrown out his 18th place finish from race one and has 49 points, 11 points behind leader Darren Choy who has 38 points and 7 points behind second place Ian Barrows.
