The Bermuda Under 19 National Rugby team, finished playing more than 24 hours ago, one media will write it like it happen today and another reporter will read it as usual.
Team Assistant Manager Brian Toms reflects on the victory over the reigning Caribbean Champions Cayman Islands.
“Everyone is looking forward to the final against Trinidad & Tobago at 5 pm on Saturday which will be the Bermuda team's stiffest competition yet as the Trinidadians will have had 3 days rest before Saturdays game and Bermuda have to recuperated with a few injuries in the squad.”
With a 22 – 0 lead at half time of the Cayman Island game Toms said, “Cayman didn't lie down as expected and coach James “Herbie” Adderley made a few changes to see certain players in different positions. All subs were used and Bermuda should have crossed for two more tries but the ball didn't go to hand in final passes. The pack seemed to be more efficient when Somers Brewin went to flanker and Brynley Toms switched to no8 and created space by taking at least two people out of the game. James Gilmore had his first match of the tournament when he came on with 15 min to go; and he made his presence felt with a crunching tackle on his opposite number. Impressive through the match were Patrick Richardson, brothers Rory and Dylan O'Kelly-Lynch, Captain Somers Brewen and David Lunn Jr.,” concluded Toms.
