Jeneko Place and Taylor-Ashley Bean finished competing last night at 11:30pm Bermuda Time, www.islandstats.com was the only local media to cover the event, we now bring you more details on the performance of the two Track & Field Athletes.
Place as we reported competed in Heat 4 of the Boys 200m finished 4th clocking 21.76 running in Lane 7, Place recorded the 5th fastest time therefore he is in the "A" final.
Donna Watson the Bermuda Track and Field Association President said, “There were 4 heats with Place being in the fastest heat. Bean completed in Heat 2 of the Women’s 1000m in 8th place with a time of 3:08.32 and is in the "B" final.”
“Place has the 5th fastest time overall in the 200m. He didn't have a good lane for the race, the outside lane, did not run his best time 21.76 so should have a better lane, hopefully and run a faster time in the finals. The final is scheduled for Sunday August 22nd,” continued Watson.
Watson concluded, “In the Women’s 1000m they have 17 athletes in the "A" final and then 16 athletes running in the "B" Final, Bean is scheduled to run in the Women’s 1000m B Final on Monday August 23rd.
