Bermuda’s Mark Godfrey won the Silver Medal in the Juvenile Boys race during the 5th Annual Junior Caribbean Cycling Championships Road Race in Aruba.
Godfrey recorded a time of 43:29.899 to finish 0.747 of a second behind Jay Major from Bahamas who won the Gold Medal.
Marquise Cann competing in the same race finished 12th with a time of 46:55.812. Hayley Evans finished 5th in the Girls Junior Race with a time of 32:25.5.
In the Junior Boys race Dominique road well despite an early tumble, he contested the final sprint but finished 5th in a time of 21:39.1, while Tre-shun Correia overcame cramps, even had to stop on the final lap, but refused to leave the course and finished 12th clocking 32:48.4.
Peter Dunne the Bermuda Bicycle Association President said, “Overall it was a very strong showing for our team and I think that next year we can improve upon this very good showing by Team Bermuda. In such an exciting and competitive event it is great to see our young riders performing so well.”
