Tyrone Smith has just won the Gold Medal in the Men’s Long Jump with a leap of 8.22. Smith’s first attempt saw him leap 7.70, before jumping 7.58 in his second attempt. Smith then jumped 7.73, 7.87, and 7.91 in leaps 3, 4 and 5, but on his final leap Smith jumped to the Gold Medal.
Shianne Smith has finished Women's Long Jump Heptathlon in 8th with a leap of 5.36, in the Women's Javelin Throw Heptathlon event Smith finished 9th with a throw of 29.48. Smith remains 8th overall in the Women's Heptathlon with 4130 points.
Sailing
Alex Jones is currently in 5th place in the Men’s Wind Surf, Jones has 20 points after five races, Jones has finishes of 6th, 5th, 6th, 4th and 5th. Meanwhile in the Men’s Standard Laser Fleet, Rockal Evans is currently in 9th with 36 points. Evans has finishes of 9th, 18th and 9th, while Willam Hutchings is in 16th with 48 points. Hutchings finished 26th in the first race, before finishing 12th in the second and 10th in the third. Sara Adderley is currently in 8th place with 23 points in the Women’s Laser Radial. Adderley finished the first race in 5th, before placing 3rd in the second race, Adderley was then disqualified in the third race.
Hockey
The Bermuda’s Women’s National Team went down 1 – 0 to Barbados in their Group A match. Bermuda now have played three games with one draw and two losses.
Tennis
Gavin Manders won his Men’s Singles match on the opening day of Tennis action, Manders defeated Jannick Tash from St. Vincent in straight sets 6 – 0, 6 – 4. Manders advances to now meet the Men’s 2 seed Daniel Garza from Mexico. Jacklyn Lambert won her opening Ladies Singles match in straight sets 6 – 1, 6 – 3 against Alyssa Source from Barbados, Manders teamed up with Lambert in Mixed Doubles action and the pair went down in straight sets 6 – 3, 6 – 2 to Andres Bucaro and Kiristen Weedon from Guatemala.
Na’im Azhar went down in straight sets in his Men’s Singles match 6 – 3 , 6 – 2 to Marvin Rolle from the Bahamas, while David Thomas and Neal Towlson went down in straight sets 6 – 0, 7 – 5 in their Men’s Doubles match against Devin Mullings and Marvin Rolle from the Bahamas. Caitlyn Gordon won her Ladies Singles match in straight sets with a 6 – 0, 6 – 2 victory over Lerissa Morris from St. Vincent. Gordon and Tara Lambert won their Ladies Doubles match in straight sets 6 – 3, 6 – 4 over Barbados pair Alyssa Fuentes and Ancia Ifill.
