The 2010 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships continued in Manchester, England with Bermuda going down 11 – 5 to Finland.
A day after Bermuda went down in their opening match 16 – 2 to Poland. Bermuda managed to score five times in this game.
Rob Griffith gave Finland the lead after only 1:40 gone off the clock, Petja Karki doubled the Finland lead with 18:37 off the clock, DJ Johnston pulled a goal back for Bermuda with 21:11 off the clock. Tyler Masters recorded the assist, but three minutes later Griffith restored the Final two goal lead. With 31:05 off the clock Johnston scored his second and Bermuda’s second with Doug Bell getting the assist to pull within one goal.
With 43:01 off the clock Finland got a goal from Risto Worthington to make the score 4 – 2, two minutes later it was a one goal game again this time when Stephen Michel scored, and just over one minute later the scores were level. Masters this time converted from a Michel pass to make the score 4 – 4.
Finland got further goals from Karki, Worthington, Pentti Pekkonen, John Snellman, Griffith, Aki Virtanen and John Snellman, while Masters scored the other goal for Bermuda.
