Dutch rider, Kirsten Wild, raced to a sprint-finish win this evening in Granby, during the second stage of Tour du Grand Montreal, completing 11 laps of the 9.46 km course in 2 hours and 43 seconds. It is the second win of the Tour for Wild, who maintains both the Yellow and Silver (Best Sprinter) jerseys. Recording the same time as Wild at the line were Rochelle Gilmore (Lotto-Belisol) and Regina Schleicher (Equipe Nurnberger Versicherung), in second and third place respectively.
Nikki Butterfield finished with the lead pack and was officially in 60th place an 49th overall.
Tomorrow will see riders competing in two stages throughout Montreal: an individual time trial in Lachine, beginning at 11:30am, and the famous Little Italy criterium, taking place in the Rosemont- La Petite Patrie area on St-Laurent Boulevard at 7:15pm.
