Minors Meets Carifta Standard The Bermuda Track and Field Association held a Mini Track Meet at the National Sports Center, the rain stopped long enough for Dage Minors to qualify for the Carifta “B” Standard in the Under 17 Boys 1500m clocking a time of 4.27.54. Primary School West & West Central BSSF Round Up The Bermuda School Sports Federation held their West & West Central Zone Sports at the National Sports Center. In the Primary School - West Central, Girls Ball Throw Cricket Ball Under 9 saw Kenni Thompson from Saltus Grammar win with a throw of 89.70m, Courtney Marshall from Bermuda High finished second with a throw of 79.50m and Lauren Way from Bermuda High finished 3rd with a throw of 73.80m. In the Boys Long Jump Under 10 with a leap of 3.84m saw Sean Tucker from Warwick Academy finish in first place, Neil Figureido from Saltus Grammar finished second with a leap of 3.67m, while Benjamin Barnett from Warwick Academy finished 3rd with a leap of 3.60m. Ember Butterfield from West End finished first in the Primary School West Girls Long Jump Under 10 with a leap of 3.93m, while Genesis Iris from Somerset Primary finished second with a leap of 3.53m and Makayla Robinson from Dalton E. Tucker finished third with a leap of 3.36m. Purvis Primary student Elisha Darrell won the Boys Long Jump Under 10 with a leap of 4.07m, Zahni Bulford from West End finished second with a leap of 3.94m and Evan Heyliger from the Somerset Primary finished third jumping 3.49m. Due to heavy showers the Primary School West & West Central will conclude on Friday with athletes returning to finish off events that were stopped due to Lightning around the stadium.
