Evan Van Gorp's double and a dominant second-period performance propelled the London Knights to a 5-2 victory over the Sudbury Wolves.
The game began as a tight defensive battle, with neither side able to break the deadlock for over 26 minutes. Then, the floodgates opened.
Van Gorp struck first for the Knights, but Sudbury quickly responded through Chase Coughlin to tie the game at 1-1. Van Gorp notched his second of the night to restore London's lead, only for Quentin Musty to equalize with a power-play goal for the Wolves.
With the score tied 2-2 and the second period winding down, the Knights seized control. First, a slick passing play involving Cam Allen and Kasper Halttunen culminated in Halttunen firing a rocket past Nate Krawchuk to make it 3-2. Just 50 seconds later, Sam Dickinson extended the lead with a pinpoint shot from the blue line, his 19th goal of the season.
The Knights carried their two-goal advantage into the final frame, effectively shutting down the Wolves' attack. Landon Sim added an empty-net goal late in the third period to seal a convincing victory for London.
Cam Allen continued his impressive form for the Knights, contributing two assists to take his points tally to 15 in 13 games. The victory solidifies London's position in the standings as they continue their push for playoff contention.
