More than a week ago www.islandstats.com reported that Bermuda will have a team in the 2011 DHL North American Caribbean Rugby Association (NACRA) Sevens that will be played in Bridgetown, Barbados on November 12th & 13th 2011 and features for the first time, representation from all of NACRA's Members.
The Bermuda Rugby Football Union have announced the team that will represent Bermuda at the tournament. More than likely now other media will make their way to cover local Rugby to make it look as if they care.
In the Men's competition, Guyana will be defending their title for the 5th time, having won the Caribbean Sevens Championships on the previous 4 occasions. The Guyanese team should be in fine form entering the tournament, since they will have just returned from the PAN AM Games in Mexico.
Curacao will be fielding a team in the NACRA Sevens for the first time and the tournament sees the return of USA South, who on their last outing in the event finished a creditable 4th.
With Mexico, Cayman and Bermuda all showing significant improvements in recent years, courtesy of well-developed youth programmes, each of the 4 pools in the men's tournament will be hotly contested.
Bermuda have been drawn in Men's Pool C alongside Mexico, Cayman, and USA South.
Bermuda’s 7’s Team
Would be good to get a lot of coverage of this, especially seeing as Bermuda is the reigning 15 a side champions and are looking to add the 7 a side trophy to the collection.
