Squash National Championships Announced

IslandStats.com
The Gnosis Bermuda National Squash Championships are scheduled to take place March 11th – 15th, 2024 at the Bermuda Squash Racquets Association Club.

The Nationals will see Bermuda’s top local squash players battle it out on court for their National Ranking.

Throughout the week, over 60 players play in 11 different Divisions separated by either level or age. The Men’s and Women’s Open Draws will be tightly contested with husband-and-wife Micah & Eilidh Franklin trying to defend their titles from last year. In the Men’s Open, Noah Browne will be looking for redemption narrowly losing out last year. While both Franklin & Brown try to fend off the younger duo of Anaya Smith and Taylor Carrick. Who are both hungry for an upset.

In the Ladies Open draw Eilidh Franklin will have tough opposition this year with newly hired BSA Squash Pro Melina Turk playing in the tournament for the first time.

Susie Howells is also back this year looking to continue her run of good form after winning the BSA Club Champs back in November. The youngster duo of Tyler Komposch and Gabrielle Turchiaro will also be playing looking to challenge these top ladies.

The Vet’s Divisions is always a favorite around the squash club due to the battles between some Bermuda Squash legends. John Fletcher, Nick Leach, Joann Bielby, and Liz Martin will be some of the top seeds all looking to stay sharp through the week fighting for the 40+, 50+, 60+ titles.

“We are extremely grateful to have local IT and business consultancy, Gnosis Bermuda back as title sponsor supporting this event,” said CEO, and avid squash player, Neil Lupsic comments, “We’re thrilled to return as the lead sponsor for the 2024 Bermuda National Squash Championships for a second year. For a relatively small island, this community is thriving and as a squash player myself, it’s great to be able to support local initiatives like this. The whole team at Gnosis will be following the competition closely and we wish all players the best of luck!”
