Bermuda’s most decorated Squash athlete Nick Kyme returns to the courts after a two year injury lay off in the XL CATLIN sponsored BSRA Club Championships next week.
The former World 63rd Ranked player and winner of an amazing 15 BSRA Club Titles, was struck down by a serious calf injury which has stopped him from competing since 2015.
He is one of 79 players competing in the XL CATLIN BSRA Club Championships next week looking to regain the title he last won in 2015.
Kyme was upbeat as he prepared for the championships saying, “It’s been a long road back from what didn’t seem like a big injury at first. I’m so happy to be back playing properly again and totally up for getting my title back.”
Rachel Barnes returns as Defending Champion in the Ladies event but will face strong challenges from Sarah Nicholson, Grace Edy and Jayne Craig.
As always the Championships feature Veterans Divisions for Men and Women as well as a host of graded draws.
BSRA Director of Squash Patrick Foster said, “The BSRA is thrilled to partner with XL CATLIN not only in the BSRA Club Championships but also next month’s XL Catlin Junior National Squash Championships. This event highlights everything great about our club with entries ranging in age from 10 to 70+ years old all battling together in a really fun environment. Please come down and watch some great squash and check it out for yourselves.”
