Christopher Scores to Send Towson to CAA Championships
Nia Christopher and her Towson Women's Soccer teammates outshot William & Mary 16-2, but it was a late goal from Christopher that was the difference in a 1 - 0 win for Towson.
Towson advances to the CAA championship game for the first time in program history with the win.
Towson also ties the program record for wins in a single season with the win over William & Mary. Head Coach Katherine Vettori picked up career win number 100, and her 44th win at Towson.
Christopher scored the lone goal in the 87th minute and now has a goal in two straight games.
Towson would finally breakthrough in the 87th minute. Phoebe Canoles got a ball over the top and played it across the box. Christopher would get the ball on her feet and slot home a shot to give Towson a 1 - 0 lead, winning by that score and advancing to the CAA championship game.
