The Bermuda Academy players took part in the North East Field Hockey Association (NEFHA) with the team called the Islanders.
The Bermuda players played two games on Day One.
In Game 1 the Islanders II went down 2 - 1 to the East Coast High Performance (ECHP) team in a hard fought game between the two side.
ECHP scored first which was a 27th minute Field Goal against the run of play and held that lead at halftime.
Islanders tied the game from a 47th minute Field Goal off of a set play with a free hit ball just outside the 23 meter line scored by Donovan Simmons assisted by Zahkari Minors.
The Islanders continued to apply the pressure for the rest if the second half but would come to rue several missed chances when in the 63rd minute the ECHP team scored a goal of the Penalty Corner via a well executed drag flick from the top of the circle.
Despite applying some late pressure islanders were unable to find an equalizer.
In Game 2 the Islanders would defeat Greenwich II 3 - 0.
After using the first game to gel as a team and get use to the increase level of competition, the Islanders team put on a dominate performance in the second game.
After having most if the possession in the first half the Islanders finally broke down a resolute Greenwich defense in the 25th minute with a great bit a individual skill by Darien Isa who dribbled into the circle and fired a rocket passed the keeper. The Islanders continued to apply pressure for the rest of the first half but missed several chances.
The Islanders continue to dominate possession in the second half and were reward for the efforts when Samuel Thompson double the lead off a clever deflection in the circle off of a pass from Hemijah Bean in the 49th minute.
The Islanders put the game away with a 66th minute Field Goal off the stick of Simmons off a pass from Minors.
