The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) announced the Senior Men’s National team selected for the October 2023 match window of the 2023 CONCACAF Nations League (CNL) Group Phase presented by Qatar Airways.
The selected team sees a few changes in the roster following the September match window. These changes allow the coaching staff to include and evaluate players who could not be included in the September matches. One player is a new addition to the squad, Keziah Martin, while the other four (4) players are returning to the national team selection: Jaylon Bather, Djair Williams, Justin Donawa, and J’Nai Steede.
The coaching staff has emphasized their commitment to the ongoing search and evaluation of as many eligible players for Bermuda as possible while navigating the challenges during the competitive landscape of the CNL.
When asked what the team needs to focus on during this window of the 2023 CONCACAF Nations League Group Phase, the coaching staff had this to say:
“The group needs to remain focused on the plan we have set out, which includes the ongoing development of our game model, setting of high standards on all levels, and a continued commitment to our match performances, which we feel strongly will provide the required results in our two (2) matches vs Belize,” said Michael Findlay, Senior Men’s Head Coach.
Assistant Coach John Barry Nusum echoed the sentiment of Coach Findlay, saying this when asked about the team’s focus during the October 2023 match window, “Our focus needs to be on creating consistency of performances. The previous matches have been a great stepping stone, but in both matches, there was a vital part of the game that we lacked, even if for a small moment. Concentrating for the full time of the match is imperative, and playing with a bit of freedom and swagger”.
