Adrian Roach went down at the American Boxing Confederation Junior, Youth, and Women’s Championships in Cali, Colombia.
Fighting in the Elite Men’s 67-71kg Division, Roach would take on Aaron Prince from Trinidad and Tobago.
Roach posted on Social Media. “I won overall rounds on the judges’ scorecards but due to a two-point deduction in the second round for not keeping my head up the fight got ultimately got scored to my opponent.
“Pretty annoying, because two points that they said I was keeping my head down, I was just slipping punches, but unfortunately the referee’s decision overrules the judges.
“They also did not score when I knocked him down in the second. I am not the one to make excuses but on the cards I won, and it was the deductions that cost me the fight so I don’t feel bad expressing my frustration.”
