Yushae Desilva-Andrade began competing in the Povoa de Varzim World Boccia Cup in Portugal.
In her First Round match, Desilva Andrade took on Amagoia Arrieta from Spain who is ranked 6th on World Rankings in the Pool C BC1 Female Division.
Desilva- Andrade fell 3 – 2 to her Spanish opponent, at the end of the 1st Quarter, Arrieta had a 2 – 0 lead, Desilva Andrade picked up a point in the 2nd Quarter to make it 2 – 1. Arrieta extended the lead to 3 – 1 at the end of the 3rd Quarter, with Desilva Andrade winning a point in the 4th Quarter, but fell 3 – 2.
Desilva Andrade would return to action for a second time on the day, but she would go down 5 – 1 to Kinga Koza from Poland.
Desilva Andrade took the lead at the end of the 1st Quarter, she held a 1 – 0 lead, but Koza took the lead 2 – 1 at the end of the 2nd Quarter, Koza won the 3rd Quarter 2 – 0 to extend the lead to 4 – 1, Koza would claim the point in the 4th Quarter to win 5 – 1.
