A total of 8 young sailors are flying the Bermuda Flag at the CORK International Optimist Regatta 2019 in Canada.
Magnus Ringsted, Christian Ebbin, Rachael Betschart, Pj Rodrigues, Amelia Lewis, Sophia Dias, Laura Hupman, Ethan Thompson have all begun competing.
Due to a Thunderstorm moving through the area, only one race was able to be completed on Day One with all eight Bermuda Sailors in the top 50 overall and are high up in their Fleets.
Ringsted and Ebbin who we reported competed last week, won their Fleet races, Ringsted won the Pink Fleet race, while Ebbin won the Purple Fleet race.
Betschart is T7th after finishing 3rd in the Purple Fleet race, crossing the line 7th in the Pink Fleet sees Rodrigues T19th.
Lewis comes off the water T25th after finishing 9th in the Pink Fleet, while Dias is T31st after finishing 11th in the Purple Fleet.
Hupman is T40th after finishing 14th in the Purple Fleet and Thompson is T46th after finishing 16th in the Yellow Fleet.
