Bermuda sailors Benn Smith, Ceci and Michael Wollmann are putting the final touches on their preparations for the start of the Pan American Games in Paracas, Peru.
Following a three hour journey outside Lima, a journey of over 245km, www.islandstats.com finally made to get a chance to talk to the sailors about the conditions and competition.
Benn Smith who will compete in the Laser Class is looking forward to the challenge ahead, “I like my chances if the conditions remain the same, they are calling for medium air that is what I feel quick in.”
“The conditions on the water are similar to the Great Sound, maybe a little more pressure, but overall it should be good,” continued Smith.
Michael Wollmann said, “This event will be a challenge as we have not had much time in the boat, due to school commitments, but we are slowly working our way back into things.”
Ceci Wollmann said, “Our strength is light winds, so hopefully they remain as it would give us a great chance, but we don’t know what the winds are forecasted for.”
