The Swimming portion of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games commenced in San Salvador, El Salvador at the Merilot Aquatic Complex.
Jack Harvey, Benedict Parfit, Emma Harvey and Madelyn Moore got things started in the 4 x 100 Medley Relay where they swam to 4:03.43 finishing sixth in the finals, establishing a new unofficial Bermuda Open Record.
During the heats in the morning, Emma Harvey and Madelyn Moore both qualified for the A Final in the Women’s 50M Backstroke, with Harvey unofficially breaking her own Bermuda Open National Record in a time of 28.75, which she previously set at the Bermuda National Championships in May in a time of 28.91.
Harvey went on to claim the Silver Medal in the Women’s 50M Backstroke Final in a time of 29.01 with Madelyn Moore finishing fourth, narrowly missing out on bronze in a time of 29.51.
