Winter Age Group Champs & Williamson Break Another Record

The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association’s Winter Age Groups Championships continued at the National Sports Center.
The 13-14 Girl’s 100 SC Meter Breaststroke saw Katherine Wheddon clock a winning time of 1:27.92, Sienna Spurling was second in 1:32.18, and Violet Smith finished third clocking 1:34.66.
The 11-12 Boys 200 SC Meter Freestyle was won by Joey Cechini who clocked 2:42.46, Dominic Wright was second in 2:47.53, while Jasper Lau finished third with a time of 3:06.11.
It was a tie in the Girls 15 & Over 100 SC Meter Breaststroke, with both Myeisha Sharrieff and Adriana Argent clocking the same time of 1:21.12, with Daria Desmond finishing third clocking 1:25.82.
Connor Hupman won the 13-14 Boys 200 SC Meter Freestyle clocking a time of 2:08.68, Noah Maranzana was second in 2:17.08, and Jacob Wright finished third clocking 2:24.68.
Sam Williamson was back in action competing in the Swim England National Winter Championships, Williamson is representing Bath University in the UK.
On Day Two, Williamson swam the Boy’s 100m Breaststroke Preliminaries swimming a Personal Best time of 1:03.53 which put him in the Junior Final. Williamson clocked 1:02.70 in the Junior Final finishing 6th, this new time breaks the Bermuda 17-18 Boy’s Age Group Record set in 2001 by Graham Smith.
Williamson was then straight back in the pool for the Boy’s 200 Individual Medley Preliminaries swimming another Personal Best time of 2:05.27 which earned him a place in the Junior Final. Williams swam another Personal Best of 2:04.40 finishing in 8th place in the Final breaking the Bermuda 17-18 Boy’s Age Group Record.
