Carifta Swimming Championships - Bermuda Win 5 Medals Day 2

Bermuda Swimmers continued competing in the XXXV Carifta Swimming Championships in Barbados. The Bermuda team would win five more medals on Day Two.

Day Two Finals

The first Medal of the day for Bermuda was the Gold Medal in the 13-14 Girls 200 Meter Freestyle, as Marleigh Howes clocked a winning time of 2:13.40.

Sam Williamson captured another Gold Medal, this time in the 15-17 Boys 400 Meter Individual Medley clocking a winning time of 4:39.87, Elijah Daley finished 4th clocking 4:55.78.

Violet Smith captured the Silver Medal in the 11-12 Girls 100 Meter Backstroke Final touching the wall in a time of 1:11.88, Arabella Newport Derbyshire was 4th clocking 1:15.79.

Myeisha Sharrieff won the 15-17 Girls 100 Meter Backstroke Bronze Medal clocking a time of 1:08.05, while Taylor White was 4th with a time of 1:08.47.

Brandon Adkins, Sam Williamson, Elijah Daley, and Flynn Watson-Brown captured the 15-17 Boys 4x100 Meter Medley Relay Bronze Medal with a time of 4:04.07.

Day Two Preliminaries

Arabella Newport Derbyshire advanced to the 11-12 Girls 200 Meter Freestyle final after she finished 8th in the Preliminaries, Marleigh Howes advanced to the 13-14 Girls 200 Meter Freestyle final after clocking the 4th fastest Preliminary time of 2:16.69.

During the 15-17 Girls 200 Meter Freestyle Preliminaries Bella Howes finished 7th with a time of 2:14.11 to advance to the final, while Taylor White finished 9th clocking 2:16.84.

Sam Williamson advanced to the 15-17 Boys 200 Meter Freestyle final after clocking the 3rd fastest Preliminary time of 1:59.02, while Brandon Adkins finished 9th clocking 2:01.68.

Newport Derbyshire clocked a time of 32.98 finishing 9th in the 11-12 Girls 50 Meter Butterfly, while Imojen Judd advanced to the 13-14 Girls 50 Meter Butterfly Final after finishing 6th clocking a time of 30.59, Marleigh Howes missed out finishing 11thh touching the wall in a time of 31.34.

Advancing to the 15-17 Girls 50 Meter Butterfly Final was Sharrieff who clocked the 6th fastest time of 29.71, Bella Howes finished 12th clocking 31.13.

Elijah Daley finished 16th in the 15-17 Boys 50 Meter Butterfly touching the wall in a time of 26.94, while Finn Moseley finished 19th clocking 27.63, and Flynn Watson-Brown finished 22nd with a time of 27.94.

Violet Smith clocked the fastest 11-12 Girls 100 Meter Backstroke Preliminary time of 1:13.85, Newport Derbyshire was third in 1:15.07.

In the 13-14 Girls 100 Meter Backstroke Preliminaries Judd finished 6th with a time of 1:11.68, while Sharieff and White advanced to the 15-17 Girls 100 Meter Backstroke Final, Sharrieff clocked the 2nd fastest Preliminary time of 1:07.82, while White was 4th clocking 1:09.56.

During the 15-17 Boys 100 Meter Backstroke Preliminaries Adkins advanced to the Final with the 5th fastest time of 1:02.54, Moseley missed out finishing 11th clocking 1:05.45.

Adkins, Williamson, Daley, and Watson-Brown clocked the fastest 15-17 Boys 4x100 Meter Medley Relay Preliminary time of 4:03.11.
