Madelyn Moore and her Northern Colorado Swim and Dive teammates began competing in the 2022 WAC Swimming and Diving Championships in Texas.
The Meet did not start the way they would have wanted, however, they would bounce back to claim two school records, as well as Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, highlighting an eventful evening as Northern Colorado surged into fifth place with 159 points.
The Northern Colorado Women’s 200 Yard Medley Relay that included Moore swam at a record pace, however, they were disqualified for leaving early, they would've posted a school record in the event and grabbed a Gold Medal.
But then Saana Liikonen kicked off the Women’s 200 Freestyle Relay and with performances from Payten Irwin, Ali Jackson, and Moore, Northern Colorado unraveled a head-turning time. Moore nearly caught Grand Canyon University at the finish but hit the wall with a time of 1:30.32, a school record by over a second.
Northern Colorado brought the fireworks for the final swimming event of the evening in the Women’s 50 Yard Freestyle. Not only did Moore break her own school record turning in a 22.17, but Moore also claimed the WAC Meet Record.
