The moment all Northern Colorado Swim fans have been waiting to hear has finally arrived. Northern Colorado Swim and Dive will host its first dual meet and the first athletic event of the year against Colorado Mesa on Saturday, November 7th.
Senior Petra Kis and junior Madelyn Moore are coming off appearances on the All-WAC first team after swims in the 400 IM and 50 Freestyle, respectively. Head coach Lisa Ebeling also returns Paula Núñez Blázquez and Natalie Kayfes, who landed on the All-WAC second team in 2019-20.
"We are very fortunate to be in a position to host a competition," said Ebeling. "I want to extend a huge thank you to our administration, COVID-19 committee, facilities operations, and everyone else who has worked tirelessly to give us the best possible training opportunities allowing us to get to this point.
"Our girls are anxious to get on the blocks and Mesa will be great competition for us. It will certainly be an exciting meet."
Northern Colorado last competed against Colorado Mesa in a double dual featuring the Colorado School of Mines back in 2016. While UNC defeated Colorado Mesa, 154-115.
UNC will also host Wyoming on Saturday, December 5th, for the first time since 2018 (UNC won the dual, 155-145). A season ago, the Cowgirls took home the win, 176.5-123.5, up in Wyoming.
