IslandStats.com
Ty Hurdle’s Queens University of Charlotte Head Men's Volleyball Coach Jeremy Price announced the team's 2022 competition schedule.

The new season features 26 matches, including 10 home contests inside Curry Arena. Last season, the Royals finished 14-12 while placing runner-up in the 2021 IVA Championships.

"We are very excited to play this 2022 spring season schedule," emphasized Price. "It is going to be exciting having full attendance and fans in the stands for all of our matches after having very limited attendance last season."

Queens will open the season on the road in Franklin Springs, Ga. on January 13th with a bout at Emmanuel College. Following the match, the Royals will welcome Lees-McRae College on Saturday, January 15th for their home opener at 3:00 p.m.

The following weekend, the Royals will square off with Harvard and Farleigh Dickinson on the road before hosting a pair of matches with the University of Charleston and Barton College.

The Royals will follow the home stand with a huge weekend on the road at the inaugural First Point Collegiate Challenge. The four-team invitational will take place in Austin, Texas and includes a bout with the 2021 NCAA National Champions from Hawai'i on February 4th. The Royals will conclude the challenge on the following day with a match against Kentucky State.

After the trip to the southwest, Queens will remain on the road for three consecutive matches, including a rematch from last year's IVA Championship on February 11th at Lincoln Memorial. The Royals will square off with Tusculum University and George Mason University during the road stand as well. Queens will complete the second match of a home-and-home series with the Railsplitters and Pioneers on March 25th – 26th at Curry Arena.

Queens will also feature a home-and-home split with Lees-McRae College, cross-town rival Belmont Abbey College, King University, Barton College, University of Mount Olive, and Limestone University.

For the second consecutive year, the Royals will host the IVA Championships inside Curry Arena which are scheduled for April 22nd – 23rd. "The championship will have a full field of eight teams after a limited field last year and it is going to be a great two-day event which will showcase some of the best Independent Volleyball action," closed Price.
