Cydnee Todd and her Thomas College Women's Basketball teammates dropped a 74-59 decision to Bates in their home opener at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium. Thomas jumped out to the quick 3-0 lead early on, then the teams traded baskets through the remainder of the first, with Bates pulling ahead with the 14-9 advantage going into the second. The Bobcats held their cushion through the second quarter and went into the half with a 30-24 lead.
After more back and forth in the first three minutes of the third, Bates went on an 18-6 run to close out the quarter and take a 54-36 lead going into the fourth. The Terriers won the fourth by a 23-20 margin, but Bates came away with the 74-59 win.
Lexi Colpack led Thomas off the bench with 11 points and chipped in six rebounds. Addie Brinkman added nine points, while Karli Stubbs led Thomas with seven rebounds and six points.
