Only days after playing the Cellone Island Basketball League All-Star game, Bermuda will face Guyana in a three match series set to start from Wednesday March 11th at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The Cellone Island Basketball League has been running for several month with no attention from printing press, will now get some attention.
The Bermudian team has arrived in Guyana for the tri-match tournament that will from on March 11th – 14th.
Bermuda will field a 10 man squad while Guyana will counter with a 12 man squad and three stand-by players.
The final 16 for the Guyanese squad was revealed at a Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) press conference, of which twelve players for each of the games will be sourced from the sixteen man squad.
Akeem Kanhai who hails from the mining town of Linden and who has been dominant in Guyana Basketball over the last several years has been named captain of the Guyana team.
Eighteen year old basketball prodigy Terron Welch from Linden is the youngest player in the squad.
