The CellOne Island Basketball League tipped off inside the Somersfield Academy Gymnasium with a Men’s Double-Header.
In the opener the Hoop Stars took on the Court Kings and then the Rim Rockers took on the Twisters, with a total of 163 points scored on the night.
The Hoop Stars built an early lead and managed to hold off the Court Kings 49 – 41. Junior Warner was the top scorer for the Hoop Stars with 18 points, while Michael Paynter scored a game high 19 points for the Court Kings.
The second game came down to free throws, with the Twisters winning 37 – 36 over the Rim Rockers. Kevin Stevens scored a game high 12 points to lead the Twisters to victory, while Jamie Cedenio scored 7 points for the Rim Rockers.
