The Cubs watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 17-2 loss to Marlins.
Marlins took an early lead in the first inning, with two outs in the first inning Billy Montgomery drove in one run when he doubled. Montgomery led all hitters going 4-4.
The Marlins scored six runs in the fifth inning. Marlins’ big inning was driven by a double by Dariyon Davis, a single by Travis Corday, a groundout, a walk, and a single by Daniel Exell. Jaden Malpas led the Cubs in hitting going 2 for 3, Malpas also had a strong game behind the plate.
