Bermudian Olympian Tyler Smith will wear race number 31 when he lines up for the elite men’s race at the 2026 Americas Triathlon Cup in Iquique, Chile, on Sunday, 8 November.
The 28-year-old heads into the Pacific coastal fixture in rich form, having secured an impressive 13th-place finish over the standard Olympic distance at the World Triathlon Cup in San Pedro de la Paz just last weekend.
In that outing, Smith showcased his endurance and foot speed with a personal-best 10-kilometre run split of 30 minutes 35 seconds to surge through a stacked international field.
This weekend's challenge presents a distinct shift in dynamics, as competition moves from the tactical grind of the Olympic distance to the high-octane intensity of a sprint-distance contest: a 750-metre open-water swim, a fast 20-kilometre cycle leg, and an explosive 5-kilometre closing run.
Smith, who already boasts international sprint-distance pedigree this season following a top-five finish at the Europe Triathlon Cup in Ceuta, will look to leverage his sharp running form and aggressive bike leg to push toward the podium places against the region's elite.
