Overseas Round-up Wins Across Europe and the US

Eva Frazzoni, Aaliyah Nolan, K’Shaela Burch-Waldron, Leilanni Nesbeth, and Mia Fishel all enjoyed winning weekends across Europe and North America, while head coach Khano Smith saw his USL Championship playoff run end in heartbreaking fashion.

In Italy's Serie A Women, Bermuda midfielder Leilanni Nesbeth played a pivotal midfield role as Como Women claimed a statement 1-0 victory over AC Milan at the Stadio Mino Favini in Meda. The decisive moment arrived in the 54th minute when Veronica Bernardi found the back of the net, sealing all three points for the Lariane on Matchday 5.

Across the Atlantic in the NWSL, Mia Fishel and Seattle Reign FC closed out Decision Day with a gritty 1-0 triumph over the Orlando Pride in front of 16,095 spectators at Lumen Field. Centre-back Jordyn Bugg netted the decisive goal, handing the Reign maximum points on an emotional afternoon that celebrated the regular-season finale of Welsh midfield legend Jess Fishlock.

Back in England, Bermuda captain Eva Frazzoni helped guide AFC Sudbury Women to an entertaining 3-2 victory over Watford Ladies at the Elite Travel Stadium in the Eastern Region Women's Football League. Sudbury held their nerve through a pulsating encounter to claim all three points on home turf.

Up north in the FA Women's National League, Bermudian internationals Aaliyah Nolan and Trinae Edwards featured as Barnsley Women mounted two spirited fightbacks to secure a dramatic 3-2 win. Nolan got on the scoresheet alongside goals from Amber Sewell and Milly Wortley, completing a resilient team display that saw Barnsley overturn two deficits to seal the points.

On the south coast, K’Shaela Burch-Waldron starred for Sutton United Women in a clinical 2-0 away win against Worthing FC Women at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium. Burch-Waldron led from the front, finding the net alongside team-mate Bradley to cap a commanding performance and seal a perfect trip away from home.

However, there was postseason heartbreak in the United States for Khano Smith, whose Rhode Island FC side saw their campaign come to an agonizing end against the Charleston Battery in the USL Championship Eastern Conference quarter-finals.

The Ocean State club took an early lead at Patriots Point, but a Charleston equalizer deep into second-half stoppage time leveled the tie and forced extra time. With the sides deadlocked, the contest was decided from the penalty spot for the second consecutive postseason, where Charleston edged a tense sudden-death shootout 5-4 to deny Smith's side a place in the semi-finals.
