Bermudian prospects Malik Paynter, Amori Simons, and Amir Weller played starring roles as Westtown School Boys' Varsity soccer team captured the Friends Schools League (FSL) Championship with a clinical 2-0 victory over Shipley School.
Competing under intense championship pressure at Oak Lane Turf Field #1 – Holloway Field, Westtown produced an accomplished, disciplined team display to claim league silverware and keep a well-earned clean sheet.
Westtown set the tone early in the contest, using sharp ball retention and defensive organisation to blunt Shipley's attacking threat.
The Bermudian contingent proved pivotal throughout the contest. Weller and Simons provided composure, tactical discipline, and energy across key areas of the pitch, while Paynter added consistent attacking impetus to keep Shipley's backline pinned under sustained pressure.
Westtown's dominance eventually told on the scoreboard, with the side converting their decisive openings to establish a commanding two-goal cushion.
Despite late attempts by Shipley to force a way back into the tie, Westtown's defensive structure stood resolute to close out the 2-0 triumph, crowning an impressive campaign with the FSL title.
