Bermuda’s Under-15 national team will contest the Tier D Final of the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Baku on Friday morning, bouncing back from a tough quarter-final defeat to sweep aside Bahrain 4-0.
The young Gombey Warriors faced an early test of character on Pitch 6B at the Hovsan Competition Complex, suffering a 5-0 loss at the hands of a clinical North Macedonia side in their opening knockout fixture.
Rather than letting their heads drop, Bermuda regrouped swiftly and returned to the same pitch with renewed determination for their Tier D semi-final against Bahrain.
Bermuda took control of the contest from the outset, combining defensive solidity with ruthless finishing in the final third.
Adam Barritt spearheaded the attack with a clinical brace, continuing his prolific tournament scoring form. Krayvon Bean-Burchall and Legend Robinson each found the back of the net with composed finishes to cap an emphatic four-goal shutout.
The commanding victory secures Bermuda's place in Friday's Tier D showpiece, where they will take on Jordan with silverware on the line as the week-long global festival in Azerbaijan reaches its climax.
