Bermudian Olympian Tyler Smith is set to return to the global circuit this weekend after being named in a stacked Elite Men’s field for the 2026 World Triathlon Cup San Pedro de la Paz in Chile.
Smith will take to the start line on Sunday, November 1st, targeting valuable world ranking points as the World Triathlon series arrives in the Biobío Region for the late-season South American showcase.
The 28-year-old heads to San Pedro de la Paz aiming to build momentum following a demanding season on the international circuit. Known for his tactical strength in the water and aggressive riding on the bike, Smith will be looking to position himself near the front pack out of the swim to contend on the fast, technical Chilean course.
The event will see a top-tier international contingent assemble along the shores of Laguna Grande, with athletes tackling a standard sprint-distance test comprising a 750-metre swim, a 20-kilometre bike leg, and a decisive 5-kilometre run to the tape.
For Smith, Sunday’s race represents a crucial opportunity to test his form against seasoned World Cup campaigners and push towards a strong finish in the global season standings.
