Sean Trott and Mae Tirfe delivered commanding displays to claim the male and female titles at the Bermuda National Gallery Run for the Arts 5K.
More than 100 competitors braved challenging conditions to line up at Parsons Road Park Basketball Courts, tackling an undulating circuit that wound through North East Hamilton, Happy Valley, and Palmetto Road before culminating in front of the Community Playground.
In the men's field, long-distance stalwart Sean Trott proved in a league of his own, pulling away from the chasing pack early to break the tape in a sharp time of 17 minutes 10.56 seconds.
Trott opened up an emphatic buffer of nearly two minutes over the rest of the field, leaving the battle for the minor podium places to unfold behind him.
Will Green produced a strong run to secure the runner-up spot in 18:59.56, while Adam Cenzer completed the podium a further 23 seconds back, crossing the line in 19:22.56.
The women's race produced gripping head-to-head drama, with Mae Tirfe producing a superb run that saw her finish eighth overall.
Tirfe stopped the clock in 20:05.21 to take the women's crown, but she was pushed all the way to the line by Helena Hines. Hines shadowed her rival across the route, crossing just nine seconds adrift in ninth place overall with a time of 20:14.99.
Marta Komarkova rounded out the women’s podium positions, coming home in 23:19.83 to secure third place in the women's category and 24th overall.
