Darlington School Soccer Academy maintained their unbeaten MLS NEXT campaign in ruthless fashion, dismantling Hoover Vestavia 14-0 in a one-sided contest halted early at the opponents' request.
The U19 outfit set a blistering tempo from the opening whistle, racing into a 3-0 advantage inside the first five minutes. David Anderson opened the scoring after just 45 seconds following neat work from Grant Reese, before Lance Carroll doubled the lead a minute later from a Hugo Enander setup. Anderson then doubled his personal tally in the fifth minute, finishing another pinpoint delivery from Enander.
Darlington refused to relent as the first half unfolded. Andres Molina Torres struck twice in a three-minute blitz—first converting from a Finn Crocker pass on 17 minutes before adding an unassisted solo effort—while Julian Medina tucked away a sixth on the half-hour mark.
Late first-half strikes from Carroll and Reese ensured Darlington carried an eight-goal cushion into the break, but the onslaught continued immediately after the restart.
Pierce Adams and Crocker both found the net within four minutes of the resumption, before Carroll sealed his hat-trick in the 54th minute. Reese followed suit shortly after, grabbing his second and third goals either side of an Enander finish to round off a dominant three-goal haul of his own.
With the scoreline ballooning to 14-0 in the 68th minute and eight different players writing their names on the scoresheet, the referee brought the match to a premature conclusion at the 70-minute mark following a request from the Hoover bench.
A comprehensive clean sheet capped another commanding outing for Darlington, who remain firmly in control of their unblemished season.
