Dandy Town Hornets and X-Roads Warriors will contest the Dudley Eve Trophy final after both secured impressive semi-final victories at the Devonshire Recreation Club.
Dandy Town made light work of Paget Lions with a clinical 4-1 victory in the opening fixture, before a Donavan Thompson double spearheaded X-Roads to an eye-catching 3-1 win over powerhouse PHC Zebras.
Dandy Town Hornets 4 Paget Lions 1
Dandy Town took control of their semi-final tie against Paget Lions courtesy of a testing evening for the Lions' backline.
The breakthrough arrived in the 32nd minute when pressure from Town's attack forced an own goal, sending the Hornets into the interval with a narrow 1-0 advantage.
Just four minutes after the restart, misfortune struck Paget again as a second own goal doubled Town's lead.
Shakir Smith offered the Lions a glimmer of hope when he halved the deficit in the 52nd minute, but their resurgence proved short-lived. Barely 60 seconds later, Zachary Hannay struck to immediately restore Town's two-goal cushion.
Tomiko Goater put the tie beyond doubt just after the hour mark, calmly dispatching a 62nd-minute penalty to cap off an authoritative 4-1 triumph.
X-Road’s 3 PHC Zebras 1
In the evening's second semi-final, X-Roads produced a blistering display of counter-attacking football to upset PHC Zebras.
Striker Donavan Thompson proved the catalyst, opening the scoring in the 22nd minute before doubling his tally seven minutes later with a composed finish.
Holding a commanding 2-0 lead at the break, X-Roads effectively sealed their final berth early in the second half when Kneiko Richardson found the back of the net in the 51st minute to stretch the lead to three.
PHC rallied and managed to pull a goal back through Nasje Brockington, but the Warriors' disciplined rearguard stood tall in the closing stages to see out the 3-1 victory and set up a showdown with Dandy Town for the silverware.
