Bermudian sailor Christian Ebbin helped guide the Tulane University sailing team to an impressive third-place overall finish at the 35th Captain Hurst Trophy in Hanover, New Hampshire.
Competing across the waters of Mascoma Lake, the Green Wave held their own against elite collegiate opposition, securing a podium spot in an 18-team field with a combined score of 134 points through 10 rotations across two divisions.
Tulane proved a model of consistency throughout the regatta, notching seven top-four finishes across the weekend, headlined by a pair of runner-up performances.
Ebbin set the standard for the Green Wave in the competitive A Division, sharing skipper duties alongside crews Molly Bonham, Sophia Adams, and Sabrina Anderson.
The Bermudian-led boat produced several clinical tactical displays to place fourth in the division with 64 points over 10 races, with Ebbin partnering Bonham and Anderson respectively to claim Tulane’s two second-place race finishes.
In the B Division, skipper Kelly Holthus combined with crews Sloane Mullin and Parker Kumler to finish fifth on 70 points, ensuring the Green Wave remained firmly in the podium hunt.
The collective effort capped a successful weekend on the water for Tulane, with Ebbin continuing his fine collegiate form to anchor another podium run on the US circuit.
