A looping second-half header from Cody Robinson proved decisive as Thomas College edged out Maine Maritime Academy 1-0 in a hard-fought North Atlantic Conference encounter.
Robinson rose highest in the 65th minute to meet an inch-perfect delivery from T'syi Showers, steering his header into the top-left corner to break the deadlock and preserve the Terriers' unblemished league record.
The victory lifts Thomas College to 9-2 overall and a commanding 5-0 in conference play, with a strong Bermudian contingent — including Tre Burgess, Justin Sukdeo, Chance Eve, and provider Showers — playing their part in a disciplined collective performance.
Thomas set the tempo early and created the afternoon's first opening after 13 minutes, when Adam Elkott drew a sharp stop from the Mariners' goalkeeper.
The pressure mounted midway through the opening period. In the 26th minute, the hosts were denied in rapid succession as Jonathan Holmsteinsson, David Ivarsson, and Robinson all saw close-range efforts repelled during a frantic goalmouth scramble.
Despite Thomas dominating possession, Maine Maritime served a timely reminder of their threat just before the interval, forcing Terriers goalkeeper Jamie Fischer into a vital save to ensure the sides went in level at the break.
The breakthrough eventually arrived midway through the second half. Showers delivered a pinpoint cross from the flank, and Robinson expertly adjusted his body to loop his header beyond the sprawling keeper.
Buoyed by the opener, Thomas pushed for a cushion, fashioning several chances across the subsequent 15 minutes to put the result beyond doubt.
They were forced to stay alert at the back, however. Maine Maritime mounted a late push and carved out one final opening in the 83rd minute, but Fischer reacted smartly once more to push the effort clear and seal another vital clean sheet.
