Maxwell Curtis and Wesley Tucker produced a dominant display to lift the Oliver (Chubby) Dickinson Memorial Regatta trophy following a thrilling day of Comet Class racing in St. George’s Harbour.
The pair secured top honours with an impressive low-score tally of three points, overcoming tricky harbour conditions to register three race victories from four starts.
Curtis and Tucker laid down an early marker by clinching the opening heat of the day.
Despite a slight stumble in race two where they crossed the line in third, the duo responded in emphatic fashion, dominating the final two contests with back-to-back victories to emphatically seal the regatta crown.
Dale Brangman and Ni Pemberton pushed the winners all the way to take second overall on five points.
Brangman and Pemberton opened their regatta with a runner-up finish before pouncing to take line honours in race two. However, consecutive second-place finishes in the remaining heats left them just shy of the summit.
Alan Frith and Sarah Frith completed the podium in third.
After opening with a fourth-place finish, the Friths rebounded smartly to take second in heat two before steadying the ship with two consecutive third-place finishes to close out their regatta.
