Smith & Sprincova take Honours at Swans Club Charity 5K

Chayce Smith delivered a commanding front-running performance to claim overall victory at the Swans Club Charity 5K Run, while Stepanka Sprincova produced an eye-catching display to secure the women's title at John Smith's Bay.
Setting off and finishing along the scenic coastal stretch of South Road in Smith's Parish, the event drew a competitive field across both the men's and women's divisions in aid of community initiatives.
Smith wasted little time asserting his authority at the head of the field, establishing an early rhythm over the rolling 3.1-mile loop.
He crossed the line in 17 minutes 52.83 seconds, building a 17-second cushion over runner-up Shannon Lawrence, who pushed hard throughout to claim second place in 18:09.91.
Adam Prunty rounded out the men's podium, breaking the 19-minute barrier with a well-paced effort to take third overall in 18:54.68.
In the women's division, Sprincova was in a class of her own, mixing it with the leading male contenders to finish sixth overall in a swift 19:35.30.
Her sub-20-minute clocking handed her a decisive victory over second-placed female finisher Mae Tirfe, who also broke into the overall top 15 by taking 11th position in 20:41.91.
Kristen Robinson capped off the women's podium places, coming home 20th overall with a solid time of 23:21.35 to round out a competitive morning on the roads.
