Jacob MacIntyre scored twice as Darren McGregor's Hibernian Development Squad concluded their KDM Evolution Trophy league phase campaign with an entertaining 2-2 draw against senior outfit Stirling Albion at Forthbank Stadium.
Bermudian youth international Logan Jimenez started in the forward line for the young Hibees in an end-to-end clash that saw both sides trade momentum across ninety minutes.
The visitors made the ideal start, breaking the deadlock after just six minutes when MacIntyre found space inside the area to fire the Edinburgh side into an early lead.
However, their William Hill League Two opponents responded almost immediately. Two minutes later, Lucas Fyfe levelled the scores with a clinical finish before striking again just after the half-hour mark to turn the contest on its head and hand the Binos a 2-1 advantage going into the interval.
Undeterred by the deficit, McGregor’s young side regrouped after the break and matched their senior counterparts stride for stride.
Their persistence was rewarded in the 53rd minute when MacIntyre struck his second of the evening, demonstrating composure to restore parity at 2-2.
Hibs continued to push forward in the closing stages and came agonisingly close to snatching a stoppage-time winner when an inswinging corner was headed inches wide of the post, ensuring the points were ultimately shared as the Development Squad wrapped up their group campaign.
